My Growing Girl

Bridget is SIX MONTHS OLD! How on earth did that happen? She's about to crawl and she is just such a joy. Granted, she thinks sleeping through the night is below her social status, but that'll pass eventually. Besides, I suppose I should look at the bright side...it means lots of snuggling with my girl in the middle of the night! We went out yesterday and bought her some clothes, and she's wearing 12 month stuff! She skipped 0-3 month stuff entirely, so I shouldn't be surprised! Hooray for my big girl!

Twilight Zone

Last night I trekked home to a basketball game at my high school. It was like a time warp.

I could hear my basketball coach yelling from the sideline...I saw all of the crazy high school kids wrapped up in their teenage drama...I heard the buzzer going off...I smelled the slightly burned popcorn.

Wow. It was freakish. And as much as I loved my high school experience, I am SO GLAD that part of my life is over. I miss some parts of it, sure, but I don't miss the drama. Or my hometown.

Bridget seemed to have a fun time. She loved all the people and sounds and lights. Probably because she had no idea of the level of psychosis that was surrounding her.

I look around

And I swear I haven't gotten anything done today, despite the fact that I've been going non-stop all day long. Any other moms feel that way? Crrrrraaaaazy. Bridget was off the hinges today. She did not want to sit and play on the floor, even if I was sitting right next to her. Then, for some freaky reason, she has decided she is terrified of the vacuum cleaner, which didn't bother her in the past. So there went my attempt to vacuum. I even told her the vacuum was named "Alfred" and I petted it and told her it was nice.

She looked at me like I had carrots growing out of my ears.

Here we go...

My husband and I have talked about starting a blog for a long time so that people can keep up with what our beautiful baby girl is doing. Because, let's face it: She's the only reason anyone calls us anymore. Well, I guess that's not entirely true - Emily is still our friend because we have cable TV and she wants to watch Lost.

Anyway.

Here's the beginning of my blog. I bet you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wish you could get back the time you spent reading this! Woot.

Who am I?

I'm Lori (25), married to Bill (29), and mama to the cutest baby girl in the world, Bridget (b. 7/24/07). I am overjoyed that I get to be a stay-at-home-mom to our daughter, and I spend my time trying to avoid irrepairably screwing up Bridget. I am Roman Catholic, or, as some of my family likes to say, I'm a "wacko Catholic." I take that as a compliment.

There's a lot more to me, but that's the important stuff. Stay tuned to the world's most boring blog to learn more.
